Taking place this weekend, the Glasgow International Jazz Festival began in 1987 when Glasgow was bidding to become the European City of Culture for 1990.Attracting some of the biggest names in jazz over the years, such as; Sarah Vaughan, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Buddy Guy, Michael Brecker and Tony Bennett, the Glasgow International Jazz Festival has grown from strength to strength.
With a rich and varied programme providing something for everyone, the Glasgow International Jazz Festival comprises of a whole range of styles, from traditional and Dixie to free jazz, and even blues and hiphop crossovers.
